Christmas Tradiations 12.6.2009

Now that Sterling is 3 and “knows” it’s Christmas there are a few traditions that are under way.  Seeing Christmas through a child’s eyes is truly magical.

The Gumdrop Tree
Grandee and Papa gave this to Sterling last year and he couldn’t wait to get all his gumdrops on it again!
So cute!!!

Santa's Cup & Plate
Gigi gave this cup and plate to Sterling his first Christmas for Santa’s milk & cookies.  We look forward to using it every Christmas Eve!

The Advent Calendar
Another gift from Grandee and Papa!  I have filled each drawer with a hershey kiss.  Sterling loves peeking in the drawer each night to see what color it is.  I’ve decided to change it up every year to keep him guessing!  Hudson was trying to steal the wrapper.  I think this will be a great hit for years to come!

Elf on a Shelf
Meet “Lettuce”, the newest member of family this December!  I know the name is a little odd, but this is what Sterling wanted to name him... Elf on a Shelf came to us as a gift from The Brighams.  Lettuce arrives from the North Pole and “watches over” us during the day.  Every evening he flies back to the North Pole to report to Santa and comes back to a different spot in the house, so you never know where he is.  Wade & Sterling go on a mission every day “looking” for Lettuce’s hiding spot, but you can’t touch him or he’ll lose his magic!  Welcome to the Kovash house, Lettuce.  We hope Sterling stays on the “nice” list!!!!

WOW!  like I said, watching the Holiday season through a child’s eyes is truly magical and we look forward to many more traditions coming about as the boys grow up!
