Country Place Fall Festival

 Every year our neighborhood has a fall festival so our kids can go trick or treating.  The whole concept behind our neighborhood is to feel like you live in the country, but with a neighborhood feel.  Everyone has about 2 - 10 acres, lots of hills, and some houses hidden by trees, so it would be almost impossible as well as exhausting to go actually go trick or treating.  Jenny, Justin and Will were in town and got to join in on the fun this year too.  The boys loved it, it was a perfect fall evening and we already have Halloween candy!

A hay ride stopped at certain houses on the trail and people were set up at the end of their driveways, so the kids would hop out and take off running.

His hat wouldn't stay on, but isn't the cutest cowboy ever?!

He LOVED trick or treating and would say, "Thank you!"  every time someone put some candy in his bucket.  So sweet!

I got no pictures of Sterling because he was so fast, but every table he went up to he'd say, "I can't have anything with peanut butter!"  At some tables this sent people into a tizzy, but we were always able to find something peanut free!  I LOVE that he's so cautious, but sometimes I like the Reese's to actual make it into the bucket!

After the hay ride there's a cookout at the end of a cul-de-sac and the kids got to run around and be silly for hours!

Karson's grandmother has some new donkeys at her house and we tried feeding those too, but they were still too scared.

I thought Hudson might climb over the fence to get to them.  He has no fear!

It drives me crazy when I get a good picture and then one of the boys has a messy face, but I guess that means Hudson had a great time!  We all did and are all ready looking forward to next year's fall festival!

Pumpkin Patch

Sterling had been asking to go to the pumpkin patch since the first morning it was a little chilly!  So, we finally went.  There wasn't much to it, but at 4 and 18 months, it was perfect and they had a blast.  I'm sure he'll be asking to go back soon.

Sticker Face

 For some reason my children have started putting stickers all over themselves, mainly their face and arms.

The next day Hudson found some stickers and did this to himself

Please pay no attention to how filthy my children look!  They had had red jello for snack at school...what a mess!!!!

Doesn't this picture just make you HAPPY!  Isn't this what being a parent is all about?!  Seeing your kids HAPPY and HAPPY together just makes it that much better!!!

What's Cooking? Poppyseed Chicken

I stole this recipe from my friend, Carolina, but it's so yummy, I wanted to share!!!

Poppyseed Chicken

1 1/2 lbs. chicken breast
8 oz. sour cream
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 stick of butter
1 tube Ritz crackers
1 1/2 tbsp. poppy seeds

Cook chicken breast, then break into small pieces. Put into casserole dish. Mix sour cream and soup and pour over chicken. Melt butter. Mix Ritz cracker crumbs and poppy seeds into butter. Pour on top of casserole. Cook at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.

Instead of chicken breast I use these pre-grilled diced chicken breast!  They are heavenly, and my new "gotta have it," when you don't have a lot of time to prepare a meal and don't want to eat out!

The "game" group before heading to the fair

The OU vs. Texas game is that one weekend every year all Oklahoma and Texas fans look forward.  Not only is it a BIG game and at the State Fair, but it's a ton of fun for everyone to have an excuse to get together and hag out!

This year I "gave up" my ticket and hung out with Jenny and Will.  Justin went in my place to the game with Wade.  The mommys and kiddos headed to this awesome park that morning.  This is the only picture I got before my camera died!  But, Sterling loved climbing to the top because it was too hard and high for the babies to get to.

After the game me, Jenny and the kids headed to Dallas to meet up with Wade and Justin at the Lee's for their annual OU/tx Barbecue at their house!  My how things have changed.  Instead of "going out" in Dallas, like we did 10 years ago, this year was full of bounce houses, cookies, wagons and kids!!!
